The Burlington Education Foundation is a non-profit organization, and relies on the goodness of potential volunteers such as yourself. When you volunteer to help out with an event, you're volunteering to help build a better, smarter tomorrow. Go above and beyond by asking others to volunteer as well. Many hands lightens the load!

Job Board

Pre-Registration Desk – Family fun Run (several positions) (7:45 am- 9:30 am)

Runners and walkers that have signed up for the Family Fun Run prior to the race need to check in, pick up their race number and receive their complimentary t-shirt and runner’s bag. Those working the registration desk must have a bright morning smile and be prepared to answer questions. Preparation will be made available at a Registration Training session (on race day) with training guidelines sent out previously.

Same Day Registration (7:45 am – 9:30 am)

In order to register the same day, applicants start arriving at 8:00 am. They must complete application form, admit payment, be checked in and receive a race number, and pick up a runner’s bag.

Application Desk (several positions)

Greet runners and walkers for the 5K and Family Fun Run, Stock forms and pens, answer form questions, and direct applicants to the cashier station. Preparation/training will be made available at a Registration Training session (on race day) with training guidelines sent out previously.

Cashier Station (several positions)

Greet runners and walkers for both the 5K and Family Fun Run. Accept payment and be able to make correct change for all applicants. Direct the applicants to the Race Admission desk.

Race Admissions – 5K (several positions)

Check application for completion and signature as well as paid mark. Choose next bib number in numerical order, assign number to application, write name on back of bib number. Keep applications in order of number assigned. Give bib to applicant. Direct to pins and race bag pick-up stations. Preparation will be made available at a Registration Training session (on race day) with training guidelines sent out previously.

Admission/Timer Runner

Take the completed applications with bib number imprinted to the Race Timer service (Granite State Race Services) personnel on duty for entry into timing database for proper race placement and timing.

T-Shirt & Race Bag Station 5K (several positions)

Hand out Race bags and t-shirts (if supplies allow) to all runners with a BIB race number below 300.

Race Bag Station - Family Fun Run (several positions)

Hand out Race bags to all runners with a BIB race number below 200.

Chute Workers (several positions)

Enter numbers of 5K participants as they cross the finish line, cheer on participants, keep participants in order as they cross the finish line, accept the tear off bib number to keep them in order. All training done by Granite State Race Services on race day prior to Race start time (approximately 8:30 am)

Sign Holders

Hold mile marker posters or arrows along the race route and cheer on participants. Great for HS volunteers!

2 Mile Water Station (several positions)

This station is located at the corner of Bedford and Stonybrook along the sidewalk. Set up table and trash. Pour and hand out water cups and Cheer loudly to runners and walkers as they pass by. Rubber gloves provided for trash pick-up. Great for family participation (please be mindful that it is on a main road).

Split Timers

Man a second timer (provided by race service) and Yell times as participants pass at the 1 mile and 2 mile marker and don’t be afraid to cheer them on!

Raffle Sales

Sell tickets for raffles. Smile, coax sales and make change if necessary.
